Can vegan protein provide nutrition equivalent as those in animal meat?
Unfortunately, NO!
Researchers from the Ohio State University have revealed that plant-based proteins are not that “absorbable” by human cells compared to the real meat. Contrary to this, another study conducted in Brazil found that vegan protein is just as good as whey when it comes to building muscles. Lab tests have shown that meat-substitute peptides were less water-soluble than those from chicken, and they also were not absorbed efficiently by human cells.
Eventually, development of more healthful plant-based products could be carried out with further research.
